SPIE Optics + Photonics 2023 San Diego.

The leading event for sharing emerging technology in optical engineering and applications, nanotechnology, quantum science, organic photonics and astronomical instrumentation returns to San Diego Convention Center August 20-24, 2023. SPIE Optics + Photonics is an international resource for researchers and engineers working on a broad base of optics and photonics technologies and their commercial applications.

SPIE is the international society for optics and photonics bringing engineers, scientists, students, and business professionals together to advance light-based science and technology.

Over the past five years, SPIE has contributed more than $22 million to the international optics community through advocacy and support, including scholarships, educational resources, travel grants, endowed gifts and public-policy development.

A Free Exhibition.

The free 3-day exhibition returns to the Sails Pavilion in the San Diego Convention Center. Exhibiting companies offer an inside look into their portfolio of products and services. Attendees meet face-to-face with premier researchers and discuss their needs with top optics and photonics supplier. Industry partners will be there to help solve problems, cut costs and increase capabilities.

More Than 25 courses Offered.

SPIE courses are created by experts and designed to expand professional knowledge and skills. Topics include optomechanics, optical design, optical alignment, fabrication, deep learning and more.

Focused Astronomy Content.

Plenaries on the Habitable Worlds Observatory, next generation space telescopes and the lessons learned from Hubble Space Telescope are highlights of astronomical instrumentation this year, along with five conferences dedicated to astronomical topics.

Sustainable Advances.

See how singlet fission, plasmonics and metal-halide perovskite PV technologies promise a more sustainable future in Sunday’s all-symposium plenary session. It’s just one of the presentations on sustainability in this year’s program.

DHF Technical Products is proud to support the optics and photonics industry with gold, silver, platinum and palladium sputtering targets for a variety of thin film applications.

Update: Due to the tropical storm in San Diego, Sunday events at the Convention Center have been canceled. Registration and badge pick-up will be open Sunday at 7:30 AM at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Registration and badge pickup will be open Monday at the San Diego Convention Center starting at 7:30 AM. All presenters and exhibitors will receive direct communication regarding the changes in schedules.
